Pete's Forty-Fifth Week, January 28 to February 3 (Pete goes to NY!)
Pete goes East for the first time: we left on Monday for New York, and came back on Wednesday. It was for my book, and Pete had to come because I am still his main food source. He was great on the plane, though now he is really, really interested in getting down and crawling around. Not so much on the plane, but in the waiting area. I am not a germaphobe, and the waiting room floor area freaks even me out. Pete seemed to like New York--he was content in his stroller for much longer periods of time than in Alabama, I think because there was so much more to look at. He got to meet some new people and see his Auntie Veena.
Pete is now saying (or shrieking) "cat." He points to what he wants with gusto, and shakes his head no with similar gusto. Mat and I think that the head shake for no has its origins in babies swinging their heads back and forth to avoid food. He still eats everything we eat (little mashed up bits) and has yet to refuse anything.
He's a pretty good traveler, but it was so nice to be home!
Loves strings
At a playdate--he got really, really dirty.
Tiny alarm clock
Planespotting, like Uncle Tim
Conked out on descent
Reunited with Veena!
In our hotel lobby with my agent, Dorian. She brought him a madeline and sang Itsy Bitsy Spider--Pete was in love.
With my publicist, Liz. Pete was a little grumpy!
Pre-cocktail party. Pete was upstairs, asleep.
Pre-Pete, I used to get on the plane and go to sleep. That doesn't happen anymore.
