Pete's Twenty-first week, August 13 to 19
This week, Pete found the ripping of paper absolutely hysterical (see previous post). And now he's so over it. You rip a piece of paper and he just looks at you, like, yeah? Mat and I started teaching, so it's been a whirlwind of coordinating our schedules and running to campus to teach a class and then running back to feed Pete. Or Mat will bring him to the parking garage and I'll feed him there. Pete doesn't care about location--as long as he gets to eat! But pretty soon we'll have a babysitter! (We're interviewing now.) Pete has become MUCH more interested in all the animals. When one comes in the room, he swivels his big ole head around to see what they're doing. It might make Fipi, who is the world's most annoying cat, worth it. Kids tend to like her. He also seems to be getting more and more aware of strangers. When he's in his stroller and a stranger gets close to him, he cries! It's very embarrassing. He's done it twice in the last week. If I'm holding him, he'll just turn his face into my shoulder, and then look out again (it's very cute). I think we may be starting to see his personality emerge? Though it's still hard to say what he'll be.
Feenie with a toy left by the previous dog tenant!

First Korean! This was one of the places he cried, when the waitress got too close...
At--you guessed it--Jim 'N' Nicks!

We love wooden spoons!
First time in his beautiful high chair from Aunt Rachel!
A little upset because Mama was gone and he wanted to eat! Being in the stroller distracts him.
